NameAfrican Library Project
DescriptionEvery year, thousands of families in the Bay Area purchase books for their children, and every year, as children grow older, many of their early books become unused. Unfortunately, many of these books either end up in landfills, or sit on shelves for years. Our mission for this Freshman Day of Service on Saturday, March 9, 2019 is to collect as many of these new and slightly used children's books in the Bay Area and send them to Botswana where our partners can start libraries at schools and in their communities. Join us as we collect unused books sitting on shelves in the Bay Area, and let's send them to Botswanan communities of learning. By helping us collect books, you will be an important part of our mission to achieving global literacy. On your day of service, please bring comfortable walking shoes, reusable grocery bags, water, and sunscreen.
